Greetings!
- And salutations. I’m Rebecca, and in a nutshell, this blog is a collection of my thoughts. I’ve got some essays, some Bible verses, some poems I think. After eighteen years of living I’ve discovered that I think best on paper, and that some words don’t do any good unless they’re shared. RebelWriter, then, is my way of saying what I think needs said.
A little about me – I love swishy skirts, doing homework with friends, singing as much as possible, watching bonfires burn, and when a book pulls me into another world. I’m competitive, but mostly in card games and debates. I dance, I write, I dream. I like to sit in corners so no one can sneak up behind me, and sweatshirt weather is my favorite season.
But why did I brand myself as a rebel in the name? As a rule, I'm not confrontational. Saying what I really think is usually putting myself out there too far. So posting my thoughts on the internet! It feels rebellious, if only a little. Maybe I'm rebelling against a policy I disagree with, maybe I'm rebelling against cultural norms - I will warn you I don't shy away from either - or maybe I'm rebelling against myself, against my tendency to stay silent and go with the flow when I should speak.
To be honest it's thrilling. I've always wanted to be a rebel. -And that's another part of it: I tend to idolize the rebels, the reckless, the fighter pilots, the underground. I'm not as radical as I make myself out to be; I just wish I was.
In the end, I hope and pray that you will find truth here. Maybe not radical or new, but worth remembering - and I hope I do the truth justice when I tell it. Sometimes I'm motivated by a Bible verse, sometimes frustration paired with a desire to fix the world, sometimes a good book or movie. It's eclectic, but hey. Read my words, and I will try to rebel and fill this blog with truth. Glad to have you with me. :)
